At Time Into Pixels, we’re always excited to try new things and bring clients something they’ve never seen before. Recently, we had the chance to work with the Minnesota Vikings to give high-school athletes a genuinely remarkable photo booth experience. We used a custom-built frame for a magazine cover open style photo booth, giving them an opportunity to pose for an increasingly popular photo trend. As you can imagine, this open style photo booth presented plentiful opportunities for digital sharing for everyone involved!
Magazine Cover Open Style Photo Booth
The photo op was inspired by a growing trend that’s been appearing at events and gatherings of all kinds. Everyone from Vogue to the Kardashians have been using it for their parties. Given how genuinely fashionable and interesting the idea is, we were thrilled to try it out ourselves.
Using a full-scale acrylic box, we created a photo op identical to a magazine. We used the Viking’s signature colors, making for a truly authentic and professional-looking cover. This gave the students some excellent opportunities to pose and seeing it also gave them a good idea of how their photo would turn out beforehand. Digital-only sharing was utilized for the photos, leading to numerous great social media posts among all attendants. It was an amazing experience to create something so novel that blended perfectly with the brand and people that were there.

When working with businesses, we’re always thrilled to help them promote their brand in new and exciting ways. Photoactivation in Minneapolis for Great Clips at this year’s XGames was just such an occasion. For three days, we were able to use our photoactivation services to not only get their name out there, but we were also able to shoot some genuinely cool pictures in the process.
Our Unique Setup For A Lively Experience
With final approval from our client, we designed the entire project from start to finish. Guests would enter into our tent to find a green screen on the back wall. There, they could pose with either a skateboard or bike featuring the Great Clips logo. Extra green screen tiles on the floor allowed us to take shots as though people were actually in the air. It looked like people were competing in the XGames! This made for some awesome shots that people could print immediately. We also had three kiosks open for people to text their photos to themselves, meaning they could easily share them on social media. Parents and children especially loved seeing themselves in the air performing mock tricks. It was a fantastic idea for sharing fun pictures and spreading awareness of our client’s brand at the same time.

Recently, we had the opportunity to do an open-air photo booth rental in Minneapolis at the 2019 VISION conference, hosted at the beautiful Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, Minnesota.
Customized Photo Booths
When working with our customers, our overall goal is to make them happy; we want to be the cherry on top at any given event we have the honor to participate in. This is why we work with our customers to customize our photo booths to match any theme. The VISION conference this year was 80s themed, giving us the chance to incorporate a fun backdrop and props that the party-goers could pose with.
VISION Conference
This four-day conference, attended by professionals from financial, government, and education institutions, is centered on security in the financial and information technology sector. Business and IT innovators from all around the world attended this event, so we wanted to make sure we could make the event memorable. Since the conference was 80s themed, we incorporated a fun purple backdrop to enhance the overall look of the conference. We also included the logo used for the VISION conference on the photo prints along with a quote relating to the subject of the conference. We even incorporated some fun 80s themed props that people could pose with in the photos! This included some fun neon sunglasses, fake mustaches, and 80s signs.

The Hendrickson Foundation hosted the National Hockey Festival in Blaine, Minnesota this February. This fundraiser event works to give individuals with disabilities the chance to play hockey. The foundation’s motto, “Hockey Changes Lives” was the running theme of the day, and we were honored to participate with our green screen photo booth.
Since this event supports such a fantastic cause, we made sure to pull out all the stops for our photo booth experience. Guests were delighted with the options, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with all the smiling faces.
The Scenes
The flexibility of our green screen backdrop allowed us to provide several different hockey-themed scenes for the festival’s guests. Participants posed in front of a hockey skate or in the middle of the action, right in front of the net. The multiple options easily allow our backdrop to work with groups or individuals, ensuring equal fun for everyone.
The Props
We had plenty of hockey-themed props on hand for the photos, inspired by the surrounding event. Guests also enjoyed playing with humorous signs and costume pieces to personalize all their photos.
Sharing The Love
Our green screen photo booth experience was extra special here because guests had the option to share pictures directly to social media. We had fun GIFs available to add on to the images as well. The social media option felt really unique to the guests, and it helped to spread the word about the great work happening at this fundraiser.
The Hendrickson Foundation was committed to making this an outstanding experience for all their guests. The tournament, and all the surrounding events all came together to support a wonderful cause, and we at Time Into Pixels were happy to be on hand to capture the magical moments. Minnesota trade shows and surrounding area expos have traditionally been places that have attracted large audiences. The potential for business brand marketing is often really high since a company can almost guarantee some face time with the audience. Additionally, the ability to more carefully target the marketing pitch to appeal to the type of consumer that will be visiting the show is also an advantage. While these are some examples of ways that trade shows can be helpful to business growth, one of the biggest drawbacks to large expos and similar shows is the challenge of engagement. With so much going on in one place, people tend to wander around more, and it can be harder to capture their eye and get them to stop and interact. One solution is the use of a Minnesota photo booth backdrop!
Minnesota Photo Booth Backdrop
A recent client engaged this idea by having a custom Minnesota cut out backdrop installed for their booth space at the Let’s Play Hockey Expo. The backdrop was both eye-catching and impressive and provided a fun activity for those passing by to participate in. Even at an event where people didn’t necessarily feel “picture ready”, the photo booth backdrop was a huge success and many people stopped to engage with the sponsor of the booth. The simple idea not only allowed Twin Cities Orthopedics a better chance to speak with potential clients, but it also gave them a great way to market their brand, as each photo print taken home or shared via social media contained their logo and name.
Make Your Event Memorable
If you are looking for an innovative idea to help your business trade show booth or industry expo space stand out and attract more attention, then consider hosting a Minnesota photo booth backdrop. It is not only engaging and fun for visitors, but also gives the sponsoring company or brand a marvelous opportunity to market themselves in a unique way.
