Guests have seen photo booths. They have not seen a robot draw their portrait in pen, on paper, in about a minute. That is why Sketch Bot rental has become the most talked-about activation we bring to events in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the greater Twin Cities. It pulls a crowd, it keeps a crowd, and every guest walks away holding something with your name on it.
What Is a Sketch Bot?
A Sketch Bot is an AI-powered robot sketch artist. A guest steps up to the photo station, we take a quick portrait, AI turns that photo into clean line art, and a robotic arm physically draws the sketch with a real pen on a real card. No printer, no filter on a screen – an actual drawing made in front of the guest.
You may have seen the same idea called a drawing robot, an AI sketch bot, a robot caricature artist, or a sketch robot. Different companies use different names for it. Ours is the Sketch Bot, and we run a fleet of them side by side so nobody stands in a long line.
How the Sketch Bot Works at Your Event
1. The guest takes a portrait
Our attendant walks each guest to the photo station – a ring-lit camera on a stand that flatters everyone. It takes seconds, and guests can go solo or in a pair.
2. AI turns the photo into line art
The software reads the portrait and builds a hand-drawn-style sketch. We can add themed scenes, props, outfits or your event’s world to the drawing – a chef’s hat and a grill for a restaurant brand, a stage for a concert, a jersey for a team night.
3. The robot draws it live
The arm goes to work on a card that is already printed with your logo, event name or sponsor artwork. Guests film it. That is the part that ends up on social media.
4. Guests keep the original and get a digital copy
They take the drawn card home, and we can text or email the digital version so they can post it that night.
Why Planners Choose a Sketch Bot Over a Caricature Artist
A traditional caricature artist is wonderful – and slow. One artist gets through roughly 10 to 15 guests an hour, so at a 200-person event most people never get a drawing, and the ones who do wait in line for it.
We bring multiple bots that draw at the same time, each finishing a sketch in about a minute or two. That means far more guests served per hour, no artist fatigue at hour three, and a consistent style all night. The robot itself is also part of the entertainment – people stop to watch it move.
Best Events for Sketch Bot Rental in Minneapolis
- Trade shows and expos – the fastest way we know to stop foot traffic at your booth and buy your team a two-minute conversation while the robot draws.
- Corporate events and holiday parties – a branded keepsake that does not end up in a hotel trash can.
- Brand activations and product launches – your logo is drawn or printed into every single takeaway, and every takeaway gets photographed.
- Conferences and sales kickoffs – a reason for attendees to come back to your space between sessions.
- Galas and fundraisers – sponsor logos on the cards, no upsell to your guests.
- Weddings, mitzvahs and milestone birthdays – a favor guests actually frame.
- Grand openings and restaurant promotions – like the branded activation in the photos above.
Branding: Every Sketch Carries Your Logo
This is where a Sketch Bot stops being entertainment and starts being marketing. We design the drawing card before the event so your logo, tagline, hashtag, QR code or sponsor block is printed right on it. The robot draws your guest inside that frame. We can also build the AI scene around your brand, and brand the digital copy that guests share.
If you want the whole footprint on-brand, look at our brand activation services – the Sketch Bot pairs well with an open style photo booth for volume, or with our AI photo booth for a second, very different kind of portrait.
What We Bring and What We Need From You
We arrive with the bots, the photo station, lighting, the laptop, our own table setup and all the pens and card stock, plus a trained attendant who runs the whole thing. All you need to provide is a standard power outlet nearby and roughly an 8-foot space. Setup is quiet, clean and done well before guests arrive.
Sketch Bot Rental Pricing
Sketch Bot pricing depends on how many bots you need, how long you want them running and how much custom branding and AI scene work goes into the artwork. Because it is quoted per event, the fastest way to get a real number is to tell us your date, venue and guest count – we will come back with a package that fits the room.
Sketch Bot FAQ
How long does one sketch take?
Roughly one to two minutes, depending on how detailed the drawing is. Simple portraits are faster; full scenes with backgrounds take a little longer.
How many guests can the Sketch Bot handle?
It depends on how many bots we bring. Because they draw simultaneously, we scale the fleet to your guest count – tell us how many people are expected and we will size it so nobody waits long.
Is it a real drawing or a print?
A real drawing. Pen on card, drawn line by line by the robot arm while your guest watches.
Can we put our logo on it?
Yes. Logos, sponsor artwork, event names, hashtags and QR codes can all be built into the card, and the digital share can be branded too.
Do guests get a digital copy?
Yes – we can text or email the sketch so guests can post it the same night.
Do you travel outside Minneapolis?
Yes. We are based in the Twin Cities and cover Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding metro, and we travel for larger activations.
